CT scan

During Computed tomography (CT) X-rays rotate around the patient making cross-sections of the body. A CT examination usually provides more information than an X-ray as there is no superposition or overlapping of organs or injuries with CT. The technique can be used for nearly all medical indications. It is specifically used for neurological (both central and peripheral) and oncological diseases (total body scan to detect lung metastasis among other things), chronical nose diseases, orthopedic disorders but also respiratory, cardiovascular and abdominal diseases.

The examination takes about 20 minutes. Scanning itself only takes a few seconds. Short term general anesthetic or heavy sedation is standard due to the quick progress of the examination.
