Digital radiography

Digital radiography (DR) produces a digital radiographic image instantly on a computer. Therefore you do not need to wait for the results like it is the case with developing a film. The processing of the image (adjusting clarity and contrast, optimizing image details) is also quicker than with conventional radiography. In this way we avoid that images should be taken a second time and we prevent additional stress for the patient.

We dispose of a digital radiographic system. This system consists of a flat-panel detector that transfers absorbed X-rays (photons) into a charge directly. This charge is then sent to the neighbouring thin film transistor layer or the TFT-layer, which in its turn transfers the data from the computer into the working station. All images are digitally stored in an integrated archive (PACSonWEB). In this way the images are easily accessible online by the referring vet or by the owner(s).

For radiographic examination we sometimes use sedation. We strictly follow the rules for radioprotection.

The department of medical imaging also offers various other official screening techniques (e.g. for elbow and hip dysplasia, osteochondrosis).
